For this easy style, all you do is tie a ponytail normally, and then take random strands and loop them and tuck the end into you hair elastic. You basically end up with a bunch of loops, but if you do it like I do, and just stuff the strands carelessly in the elastic, it'll likely turn out messy. Tadaaa. Easy peasy.
